About Your Session 

- It’s best to arrive 10-15 minutes before your session. This gives you time to relax or change your outfit before we begin. 

- Bring as many people as you like.  Since portraits are usually about memories it’s best to include other people when appropriate.  For example, holding hands with mom and dad or big sister kissing her new baby brother on the nose.  

- Don't forget your pets. They're part of the family, too.  

- Be open-minded when the session takes place.  If your children are frowning at first, go with the flow.  Sometimes the “un-posed” shots of a frown, a wail or even a sleeping baby can make a great portrait.  

What To Wear 

- For family portraits, it's best to dress everyone in a similar style, color or mood.  

- For children, simple and bright is usually best.  Busy patterns can often compete for attention in a photo and be distracting. 

Tips For Parents 

- It’s best to try to schedule your portrait session when your children are at their best (after naps or meals for example) so they can enjoy the experience.  

- It helps to bring along personal items they’ll need to keep them happy and clean, including diapers, wipes, snacks, favorite toys and blankets. 

- Sometimes it’s fun to bring along some of their favorite things like costumes, hats, or toys that showcase your child's personality.  

- Since some portraits may show the entire person, make sure to wear matching shoes and socks.  

- When possible, bring a variety of outfits with you. Different outfits can reflect different parts of your personality and help us capture your true self.
